2015 GAR Awards Announced at 2015 Inaugural & Legislative Conference

262426The 2015 GAR Awards given to individuals for outstanding service were presented by Jim Smith, 2015 President of the Georgia REALTORS(R) (GAR), during GAR’s 2015 Inaugural & Legislative Conference in Atlanta in mid-February. The recipients of the four awards are as follows:

Good Neighbor Award: Kimberly Harkey

Kimberly Harkey of Statham received the Good Neighbor Award for her extraordinary community service efforts. Harkey has volunteered countless hours on behalf of individuals and causes in her community, including her local police department and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. In addition to a plaque of recognition, Harkey received a $500.00 donation from GAR to the Barrow Sheriff’s Department’s Christmas with a Cop Program.

President’s Award: Hazel Hendrix

Hazel Hendrix of Statesboro received the President’s Award from 2014 GAR President Linda Carol Porterfield. This award is given to the individual to whom the outgoing President feels provided the most guidance and/or support during his or her term as GAR President.

Dick McCrudden Award: Brent Ellis

Brent Ellis of Woodstock received the Dick McCrudden Award, recognizing his efforts in ensuring the success of the REALTORS(R) Political Action Committee (RPAC) in a given year. The 2014 RPAC Chair Linda Durrance selected Brent to receive this honor.

YPN Young Achiever Award: Lee Adkins and Scott Hutchison

Lee Adkins of Alpharetta and Scott Hutchison of Atlanta both received the YPN Young Achiever Award. This award recognizes young REALTORS(R) who represent the best agents under age 40. The YPN Young Achiever
Award is determined by the recipient’s participation in the REALTOR(R) association, community volunteering and business accomplishments.

The Georgia Association of REALTORS(R) is a voluntary professional association of approximately 29,000 licensed real estate brokers and salespersons engaged in all aspects of the real estate business throughout Georgia. GAR is the leading advocate for the real estate industry in Georgia, committed to protecting private property rights and free enterprise, maintaining ethical and professional standards, and enhancing the public’s awareness and confidence in REALTORS(R).
