Winter-Baserva-seasons-realty

Winter Baserva is a Realtor with Solid Source Realty, Inc. in Alpharetta/Roswell.

What was your first job in the realty industry?
I originally got my license in Florida, and spent the first few years of my real estate career working on land deals. When I moved back to my hometown of Atlanta in 2008, I focused on residential full time. In my first year, during the worst downturn of the real estate economy that we had seen in a really long time, I sold 38 homes and was featured on HGTV’s “House Hunters.” It was a true realization that anything can happen with the right determination and effort.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? Music has always been an outlet for me. Sitting on my back porch with my waterfall and a book is also a great reliever. I also enjoy paddle boarding down the Chattahoochee River!

Where did you grow up? Atlanta. I went to Mountain Park Elementary, Holcomb Bridge Middle and Chattahoochee High School! Go Cougars!

Growing up, what did you want to be? Anywhere but Atlanta. I left when I went to college and headed to Florida State University. I kept heading south and lived in many areas in Florida. I swore I wouldn’t ever end up in my hometown, but as time grew on, so did my need to be back where it all started. Atlanta has so many benefits you just can’t find in other cities!! Funny how life works out sometimes.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? Tony Robbins, because his techniques and skills helped me get where I am today. When I first signed up for his course, I was broke, and he said, “If you commit to it, you will find a way to pay for it” – and that is exactly what happened. I’ve used that mentality in everything I do in real estate. Commit to your clients, and their wants and needs, and the rest follows.

Where is your favorite place to hang out? Chattahoochee River – my backyard!

What do you love most about the industry? The relationships. I can honestly say I have never sold a home to a stranger before. I become intimately involved in both the physical and emotional needs of my clients. Serving is what makes me feel the most fulfilled.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I’m the agent that does the right thing. I don’t work for the money. Money is a byproduct of what I do, but if you do the right thing and always serve, you will never be without. My white-glove service, teamed with my personal touch and background in marketing and PR, is what sets me apart from the crowd.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? Having to turn down an unrealistic client. If I can’t effectively serve them or feel that I would be misleading them by doing it their “way,” I will kindly turn them down rather than let them down.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? Most of my clients are referrals. and I treat them like GOLD.

What has been your greatest accomplishment? Wow! Tough one! I’ve been so blessed in this industry from being featured on HGTV’s “House Hunters” multiple times, to being a market segment specialist on CNN, to being the No. 1 agent for my company consecutive years; but, I’d have to say my greatest accomplishment was defying all the negative comments about me getting into real estate in 2008 and proving to myself that anything you set your mind to is possible.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? The Four Agreements.

What is your favorite restaurant? Two Urban Licks.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Atlanta? The King & Queen Towers in Sandy Springs! They are simply beautiful!

What kind of car do you drive? 2014 Lexus RX 350.

Smartphone or paper? Paper. Keeps it real!

What is your favorite city after Atlanta? New York – so much energy!

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Team up with someone who has the success you want.

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? Spotify.

Who are your favorite people to follow on Twitter? Inspirational leaders and people doing BETTER THAN ME. Surround yourself around people doing better has always been a tried and true trade of mine.
