Holly Walther, Branch Manager and Senior Loan Officer, The Holly Walther Lending Team Powered By Success Mortgage Partners

by Timothy Inklebarger

Where did you grow up? Georgia

What was your most interesting job before going into lending? My entire professional career has been in the mortgage industry, but I did waitress at various restaurants and taught cardio kickboxing for a number of years.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? Meditate

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? I would love to have the opportunity to meet Mel Robbins because I admire how she isn’t afraid to share how her vulnerabilities and failures have led to her successes. She generously uses her platform to cultivate, motivate, and inspire others to be their best selves.

Where is Atlanta’s best-kept secret? This is an easy question to answer. The Holly Walther Lending Team is Atlanta’s best-kept secret. Buyers often settle for mediocrity and status quo when they are working with lenders. When I began my career I recognized that I can provide great customer service, competitive rates, and quality products to clients without sacrificing volume. I’ve created a system of best practices that surpasses industry standards. By listening and understanding our clients unique needs and then offering solution based options, we are able to provide a truly personalized lending experience. I built my team with competent, skilled professionals who have proven backgrounds in providing high quality customer service not only in mortgage and finance, but also in real estate and other client service industries. We provide a consultative approach that allows the buyers to decide what works best for them.

What do you love most about the industry? I love the fact that I have the unique opportunity to help people see their dreams turn into realities. Buying a home, for most people, is the biggest financial decision of their lives. I am honored and humbled every single time someone trusts me to guide them through this milestone. I don’t take their faith in me for granted and I believe my clients help keep me focused on things that really matter.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? Of course, as with any industry, the mortgage business has its share of obstacles. However, my team and I approach every stumbling block, hurdle, and difficulty as a learning experience. We have a motto: Obstacles = Opportunities.

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately? I am reading “The Obstacle Is The Way” by Ryan Holiday and “Fit For Life.” I am obsessed with watching life changing podcasts and documentaries.

What’s your favorite meal in Atlanta? My favorite restaurant is Xengo’s in East Cobb. It’s a small, locally owned sushi restaurant that my family and I love.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Atlanta? The Bank of America Plaza between Midtown Atlanta and Downtown Atlanta.

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job? In the earliest days of my career and before today’s technology, a client provided his W2 that he had altered with White-Out. Obviously, that loan did not close.

What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you? Because I am an open book, there are very few things about me that surprise people. I do find, however, when I tell people that I have 3 sons and one of them is in college, one is in high school, and the last one is in Pre-K, they don’t know how to respond.

What’s your favorite vacation spot and why? I love anything warm, tropical and close to water. This is going to sound cliche’, but honestly my favorite vacations are anywhere with my husband and sons.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the lending industry? It doesn’t happen overnight.
