Addie Bartlett Agent, BrownDaniel Group at Compass

What was your most interesting job before going into real estate? I helped launch Google products with local tastemakers, celebrities, sports teams, restauranteurs, tourist attractions and non-profits in Atlanta. Who knew making cocktails and feeding pandas could be part of a job at Google?!

Where did you grow up? St. Louis, Missouri

Growing up, what did you want to be? I wanted to be an interior designer in middle school. A friend and I would tear up Architecture Digest and arrange clippings into “our houses” on my bedroom floor. Looking back, all signs led me to real estate.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? Have a girls wine night or shop online.

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? Taylor Swift. She’s an amazing performer, but there is a lot that goes into her popularity. She’s very business-minded and strategic in her career.

What is Atlanta’s best-kept secret? Dunwoody. I was nervous to move from ITP to OTP, but I absolutely love the Dunwoody community and the ability to get anywhere in Atlanta within 20 minutes (without traffic), which is great for being in the real estate business. I think there’s a lot to come for Dunwoody too.

What do you love most about the industry? I love that real estate is a puzzle. My clients have specific needs, and I get to help find a home or a buyer that fits!

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I’m extremely results oriented. I’m determined to find “the” house, sell a home for the highest price, create a noticeable marketing campaign, and build my business year over year. All of this while providing the best service possible to my clients.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? Balancing family and work. I have an amazing husband, and without him I wouldn’t be able to do it.

What’s your best advice for generating new leads? Keep up with them. It doesn’t always happen from one conversation.

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately? I enjoy listening to Audible books in the car when driving for work. I rotate genres to keep things interesting.

What’s your favorite meal in Atlanta? It would be amazing if I could have Iberian Pig’s bacon-wrapped dates, a really amazing caprese salad, St. Cecilia’s cacio e pepe and some ice cream for dessert.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Atlanta? Terminus 100. I watched this building being built when I first moved to Atlanta, then my company at the time was the first tenant to move in. I worked there again later in my career, and owned a condo from which I could see it as well. It’s so beautiful when a pink sunset hits the blue glass, angled roof.

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job? I had my second child at a very busy time, and not only was I negotiating from my hospital bed less than 24 hours after he was born, I was also attending inspections and showings less than 2 weeks after giving birth.

What’s one thing people are surprised to learn about you? I didn’t drink caffeine for 6 years.

What is your favorite vacation spot and why? Delray Beach, Florida – My parents have a house there, and whenever I am there I feel super relaxed.

What is your favorite city after Atlanta? London

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Create processes and systems early, and stay organized.

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? Compass

Who are your favorite people to follow on social media? Sara Blakely, Style Me Pretty Living, and a number of Atlanta interior designers.
