Named among the top 1 percent of mortgage originators in America last year by Mortgage Executive magazine, Tony Davis is a partner and senior mortgage advisor at Atlantic Home Mortgage. He was ranked No. 1 in Georgia and in the top 25 nationally at his previous company in 2016 and 2017.

Obtaining conventional, FHA, VA or jumbo mortgages for clients, Davis’ team does its underwriting upfront. “This removes a lot of stress from the process and protects our clients’ earnest money,” he says. “It also enables us to move faster than the competition. Our Realtor partners like it because they know when we give them a preapproval letter, it means the client is rock-solid.”

Davis’ emphasis on creating lasting relationships with Realtors he does business with has been integral to the success of his career. He forms those professional ties through weekly updates, quick response times, knowledgeable answers and clear communication.

As someone who enjoys fixing things, Davis finds it difficult to accept roadblocks. “My passion is finding those inefficiencies or stupid things that most people just learn to deal with and fix them,” he said. “Every place we can save a day matters in our business.”

A member of the Atlanta Business Chronicle Leadership Trust, Davis has won multiple Platinum Awards for closed volume from the Mortgage Bankers Association of Georgia. He was ranked the 39th-highest-producing mortgage broker in the nation last year by Scotsman Guide.

Overcoming a fear of the unknown to start his own mortgage brokerage, Davis also takes an intrepid approach to life. He skydives, hang glides, scuba dives and rides motorcycles. Earlier this year, Davis bungee jumped off a bridge over the Grand Canyon. He enjoys traveling with his wife, caring for their new baby boy and coaching his son’s football team.
