Fannie Mae has announced the expansion of their Online Offers system through HomePath properties. The system will collect and manage offers for all Fannie Mae owned properties, except auction properties.
The Online Offers pilot was launched in 2010 in Orlando, Fla., San Diego, Calif. and in Wayne County, Detroit, Mich. After two years of developing the platform and making necessary improvements, the feature is now available nation-wide.
Real estate professionals can submit offers on behalf of clients on the HomePath website; they will then receive confirmation and be able to track the status of all offers.
George Philbeck, a real estate professional with Keller Williams Advantage II Realty in Orlando, has been using the Online Offers system since its initial launch.
“As an agent, I believe Online Offers is efficient, informative and user-friendly,” Philbeck said. “With Online Offers, my clients’ offers are guaranteed to make it to the right person at Fannie Mae for review. It has worked very well for me and for my clients.”
Jay Ryan, the vice president for REO properties at Fannie Mae, said transparency and accessibility will be key features for HomePath going forward.
“Collecting offers online through HomePath.com will provide greater transparency for homebuyers and their agents,” Ryan said. “Our online platform will make it easier to sell properties to owner occupants, which is a major factor in helping to stabilize communities across the nation.”
