Construction Resources, Inc., a business that for 40-plus years has supplied builders and homeowners with kitchen and bath designs, has brought on Amanda Grimshaw as a new design consultant.

Grimshaw will work in the Decatur Design Center, according to a recent press release announcing the hiring.

Soon after Grimshaw earned a degree in interior design from Bowling Green State University she landed a job as a showroom consultant for an Ohio plumbing wholesaler.

Last year, Grimshaw took a job with Plumbing Distributors, Inc., and moved to Decatur to work at the company’s Midtown showroom.

In Ohio, Grimshaw gained experience designing kitchen and bathroom layouts, a skill that compliments her knowledge of plumbing sales and an attribute that appealed to Construction Resources.

“Amanda will be our source for plumbing knowledge as we grow that part of our business,” Co-owner Mitch Hires said. “With over seven years of plumbing sales experience, she will be a great addition to the Design Center and Construction Resources team.”

The release said Grimshaw will also provide customer support to buyers interested in countertops, tile, flooring and shower doors. Grimshaw has benefited from her degree in a variety of ways, and is glad its brought her another opportunity.

“I’m thrilled to be part of the team and to use my design degree in a different way,” Grimshaw said. “I can’t wait to start a new chapter in my career.”
