Atlanta was named one of the top 20 best housing markets for sellers in 2021, according to property management and real estate investment company Mynd Management.
Home-price growth increased 11.1% to $249,900 in Atlanta between 2019 and 2020, the report noted.
Mynd evaluated year-over-year home price appreciation in 2019 and 2020 for metro real estate markets across the country, noting that home-price appreciation growth has shifted away from coastal areas to more suburban communities.
“While 2020 was an incredibly challenging year for many industries, the real estate sector remained resilient,” Don Ganguly, senior vice president of Mynd Investor Services, said in the press release. “Historically low-interest rates, a shortage of new housing inventory and limited new construction have contributed to rising home prices nationwide.”
