The Atlanta Housing Authority has approved the sale of land near Centennial Olympic Park, according to Saporta Report. Kaplan Residential has been wanting the plot for more than two years and claimed in a lawsuit that the AHA tried to impede the deal with Integral Group. Now, Kaplan has permission to build the 12-story, $83 million apartment complex. The building will be designed by architecture firm Niles Bolton Associates and include 336 units, a 3,200-square-foot rooftop terrace, a rooftop lounge and a pool.

• Atlanta Beltline officials announced a new affordable housing project in Adair Park. The $15 million project will set aside 85 percent of its housing options as affordable, with the rest going at market rate. Amenities will include a community garden and a picnic area.
• Atlanta came in at No. 19 on WalletHub’s list of best large cities to start a business. The website looked at a number of factors, including five-year business-survival rate and office affordability. Atlanta ranked highest for its access to resources, which includes the number of investors, the number of college educated residents and the working-age population.
• Ashton Woods has announced a new community in Johns Creek called Bayard. The community will include 61 single-family homes in a gated community along the banks of the Chattahoochee River. Homeowners will be able to customize and personalize the homes using The Studio by Ashton Woods. Homes will be available this summer, with prices starting from the $600,000s.
