How did the Atlanta area’s real estate market look in February, based on the latest ABR measurements?
The median sales price for single-family homes in the 11-county Atlanta area rose 16.9 percent year-over-year in February, according to the latest market brief from the Atlanta Board of Realtors (ABR), though sales in the month were down.
Ennis Antoine, the president-elect for ABR, said that February’s stats made sense, given the market conditions.
“While the number of sales has gone down again, we don’t find that too surprising given the continuing low inventory across the metro area and the unusually inclement winter weather,” Antoine said. “Conversely, the rising prices were also anticipated given the short supply and the return of the ‘traditional’ buying and selling season. We do expect to see that upward trend continue, both in pricing and sales as we progress through the spring and summer.”
