What was your first job in the realty industry? I worked in new home construction with D.R. Horton Homes.
Where did you grow up? I am an original GA Peach from Atlanta (College Park).
Growing up, what did you want to be? I wanted to be a model and an astronaut.
What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? I throw on my head phones and run; I also enjoy having a cocktail!
If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? Herman Russell and Mark Cuban.
Where is your favorite place to hang out? Houston’s Buckhead or Tin Lizzys.
What do you love most about the industry? I love this industry because the sky is the limit of possibilities. From the interesting people you meet, to the inside perspective on other people’s lives and their lifestyle, to the ability to decide how much money I want to make, gets me excited.
How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? Well, my hair and height speaks for themselves, but being from Atlanta helps a lot! But I’ve been able to create value with my education as a loan officer for seven years, and most recently my graduate degree (MBA) has afforded me the opportunity to look at real estate and economics a bit differently too.
It also helps that I’ve been on “House Hunters” on HGTV. I will be shooting another this May!
What is the most difficult aspect of your job? The most difficult is not being able to control the unknown. I try to stay in my lane as a Realtor, but I sometimes have to put my mortgage hat on, my counseling ear and remind myself that patience is key.
Where do you go to network and meet new clients? I’m a member of the commerce club downtown and attend many events there. I also attend professional organizational meetings. My most successful networking opportunities have been at kid’s birthday parties. I have two girls, and we attend a least two to three parties a month.
What has been your greatest accomplishment? Completing my MBA after being out of undergrad for 14 years, and the ability to have two wonderfully brilliant little girls.
What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? The new “Cinderella” movie. My take away reassured me that being myself was good enough. Cinderella’s mom affirmed that being kind and having courage would take you a long way in life. The last book is “Miracle Morning for Real Estate Agents.”
What is your favorite restaurant? Ruth’s Chris.
Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Atlanta? The Sovereign Building.
What kind of car do you drive? A Lexus RX350 maroon.
Smartphone or paper? Both. I getting better though. My baby girl is a tree hugger, so I’m turning to technology more.
What is your favorite city after Atlanta? Washington, D.C.
In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Think of this as a business, and save your money.
What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? My personal Keller Williams app.
Who are your favorite people to follow on Twitter? Ryan Serhant, Ellen Degeneres and the Atlanta Business Chronicle.
