Agent Snapshot: Amy Norman, Realtor, Atlanta Communities

Name: Amy Norman

Title: Realtor

Company: Atlanta Communities

What was your first job in the realty industry? I started out in the mortgage business in 2002 and understood the ins and outs of the home buying process before I pursued my real estate license.

Where did you grow up? I grew up in Norcross, GA.

Growing up, what did you want to be? Growing up, I wanted to be famous!

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? When I get stressed, I go for a run or hit the gym. Nothing like releasing endorphins to make you happier!

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? I would sit down with my brother! He passed away eight years ago this year. I would love just one more conversation with him.

Where is your favorite place to hang out? My favorite place to hang out ranges from watching a good football game at a sports bar to relaxing on my couch with a good cup of hot tea! I can hang out anywhere at anytime as long as I am happy being there.

What do you love most about the industry? There is so much I love about the industry, I can’t just name one. First, I love houses! I love looking at them, shopping for them, and helping my clients find their favorite one! Because I understand mortgages as well, it helps my clients feel more at ease during such a trying and stressful time. I’m their security blanket at times.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I am patient, kind, creative, genuine and really try to have fun and be helpful all at the same time. I have been listing and selling homes for over 11 years now and I truly just LOVE my job!

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? The most difficult aspect of my job would have to be working with the other side of the transaction. My clients hire me as their agents because they know I do my job well and get it done in a timely manner but when we are faced with someone who doesn’t really want to work with us, instead, they work against us, it can be trying. But we end up getting it done.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? I go to a lot of CE courses and meet new people there. When invited, I go to networking events with lenders and other real estate agents.

What has been your greatest accomplishment? Outside of real estate, I would say my children are my greatest accomplishment.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? Last good movie is Wonder Woman

What is your favorite restaurant? My favorite restaurant would be any place that serves steak!

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Atlanta? The Mercedes Benz Stadium, of course!

What kind of car do you drive? I drive a GMC Denali.

Smartphone or paper? Smartphone all the way!

What is your favorite city after Atlanta? I am going to say Los Angeles!

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Train however you can & find a mentor!

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? FMLS app

Who are your favorite people to follow on Twitter? Anyone in the real estate or mortgage industries, plus a lot of golfers and football players, but my absolute favorite to follow is Inspirational Women.
