A new, 153-unit townhome project is coming to one of Atlanta’s oldest neighborhoods, Mechanicsville.
The project is proposed for an assemblage of 20 acres along Jones Mill Road at Florida Avenue, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
On July 16, the Peachtree Corners planning commission will consider that development, which consists of rear-entry units and 119 front-entry units and present their decision to the city council on August 27.
The townhomes would range between 1,800 and 2,300 square feet and offer a location in one of the oldest platted communities in Gwinnett County. The Atlanta Business Chronicle reports that the property is next to the Mechanicsville School House, which is on the National Register of Historic Places and is the city’s only such designated historic structure.
