What was your first job in the real estate industry? I started my career in real estate at the ripe old age of 22. By sheer luck, I had two sales my first month … a listing on my fourth day of work and a buyer sale on my sixth day, and they both closed within 30 days.
Where did you grow up? Born and raised in Atlanta, near Chastain Park
Growing up, what did you want to be? Pro football player
What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? Workout. Either at the gym or running up and down Lovett’s stadium steps.
If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? Winston Churchill. His leadership during WWII was remarkable. How he managed to keep the populous encouraged despite daily bombings and the prospect of an invasion is awe-inspiring. I’d like to be better able to inspire our advisors in a similar manner when they are faced with circumstances beyond their control.
Where is your favorite place to hang out? My home.
What do you love most about the industry? The diversity of clients and transactions. No two days are alike.
How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I try to stay true to who I am.
What is the most difficult aspect of your job? Staying calm when faced with difficulties brought into the office. When I am calm, those who do not know me well, think I ‘do not care’. Those who do know me, know I try to stay calm to assist in bringing down the tension that may be “in the air.”
Where do you go to network and meet new clients? Social gatherings within my spheres of influence which inevitability leads to meeting/making new friends; the gym; my fraternity alumni meetings.
What has been your greatest accomplishment? Prospering over 41 years in the real estate trenches and being able to work with outstanding professionals at ARA and FMLS.
What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? “Beneath a Scarlet Sky” (a book)
Based on the true story of a young man’s incredible courage and resilience during WWII.
What is your favorite restaurant? Depends on my mood – but Canoe, C&S Seafood, and St. Angelo’s Pizza are frequent stops.
Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Atlanta? The Hurt building in downtown Atlanta

What is your favorite city after Atlanta? Athens
In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Never meet a stranger and follow-up on a consistent basis.
