What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?
Jewelry sales, diamond specialist
Where did you grow up?
Houston
Growing up, what did you want to be?
Fashion Designer, even though my taste in fashion growing up was extremely questionable. I found it a creative outlet.
What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
Rowing class or taking the pup on a hike.
If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
Michelle Obama. She has evolved so much over her lifetime and found a way to stay true to herself during the process.
What is Atlanta’s best-kept secret?
How dog friendly and open-container friendly we are.
What do you love most about the industry?
The constant changing. The market changes every day and you have to constantly adapt and stay ahead of the shifts.
How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?
I am blessed to be 6 feet tall and have a big mouth. That usually helps get things started. I learned at a young age to smile and talk to everyone. No strangers in the South.
What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
Tactfulness when you know a house is the right house for your buyers but they want to keep looking.
What’s your best advice for generating new leads?
Stay in touch!
What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately?
As far as TV, I dont get to watch it enough, but I was able to binge Bridgeton. I am in two book clubs, and both are featuring black authors this month, so I guess I am binging More than Enough and Black Privilege. Anything self-help gets me as well.
What’s your favorite meal in Atlanta?
Oh man, there are so many great ones! Anything from Poor Calvins is out of this world good!
Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Atlanta?
Swan House.
What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?
Early on, when clients would use the bathroom in properties, and the water had been turned off or there was no toilet paper or hand soap. Now, I caution them to confirm the water is turned on and carry bathroom necessities in my car. Every REALTOR needs a kit in their car for the random things that come with house tours.
What’s one thing people are surprised to learn about you?
I can bait my own hook. I grew up spending summers in the country. I am pretty “high maintenance” but not afraid to get my hands dirty. I’ve cleaned many baseboards before showings and taken out trash for photo shoots on new listings.
What is your favorite vacation spot and why?
I love Jamaica. It’s warm, beautiful, the people are lovely and the jerk chicken. Do I need to say more?
What is your favorite city after Atlanta?
The suburbs of ATL! I mean, Georgia has so much offer in several of its cities outside of the metro.
In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?
Ask experienced agents for help and advice, then listen.
What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app?
Showing Time.
Who are your favorite people to follow on social media?
Non real estate related? I love all the Bravo Stars! They have all the best memes.
