Zumper: Atlanta apartment rents slide month over month in March

The median rent for a one-bedroom apartment in Atlanta slid 1.3% month over month in March to $1,480 and rose 6.3% year over year, Zumper reported.

Statewide, the median one-bedroom rent ticked lower to $1,073 from $1,075 in February, the online listing agent reported.

Once again, Sandy Springs had the highest median rent in the state at $1,530 for a one bedroom, down 4.4% month over month and up 6.3% year over year.

Rents grew the fastest on a monthly basis in McDonough, where they climbed 5.3% to $1,200. Year over year, Stockbridge had the steepest median rent increase, up 21% to $1,270.

Gainesville had the greatest decline in median rent between February and March, with a 5.1% decline to $1,110, while Smyrna was the only one of the 21 metro areas surveyed to see an annual decline in rent, a 4.2% dip following a 6% drop in February.
