By dollar volume, September home sales in Atlanta declined 7.8% from August to $2.89 billion, and by unit, they fell 12% to 7,834, Georgia MLS reported, citing its monthly Housing Market Snapshot.
However, the median sales price of the properties sold in September ticked 0.3% higher from August, to $340,000. Year over year, sales volume rose 7% from $2.7 billion, while the number of units sold slid 10.4% to 7,691.
Also during September, new listings were down 9.7% from the month before, while active listings were down 4.6%, and under-contract listings were down 9.4%.
Georgia MLS’ 12-county report includes Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, Paulding and Rockdale counties.
