National homebuilder D.R. Horton recently closed on the first part of a six-phase, 409-acre land acquisition that will bring 652 new homes to Dallas in Paulding County.
The first phase covers about 40 acres for 78 planned lots in the Edenwood master-planned community in the Lost Creek subdivision.
D.R. Horton signed an option agreement with the seller of the land, Walton Global Holdings, for the remaining five phases, which are expected to be executed over the next few years, according to a press release. The Edenwood community is expected to bring 652 homes to market when it is fully built out.
In April, Walton announced it closed on the second tranche of a two-phase land sale to D.R. Horton, which plans to develop 65 lots in the Madison Lakes master-planned community in Morgan County.
“Located within the highly desirable North Paulding school district, we are excited for the continued relationship with Walton Global and the opportunity to build high-quality homes within the Lost Creek community,” said Tim Arnold, division president of D.R. Horton’s Atlanta West division. “Lost Creek will be enhanced by the new amenity which is planned to be constructed and ready for use in the summer of 2024.”
We don’t need any more homes built in Paulding we’re already crowded enough and our taxes are outrageous also
