Atlanta-based real estate investor CARROLL hired veteran investment banker Robert Lester as senior managing director of capital markets and investments.
In his new role, Lester will serve as a capital markets advisor and liaise with investors and partners as the firm continues to expand its investment-management platform. Lester will be responsible for securing debt and equity for investments and expanding CARROLL’s business through new vehicles and M&A activities.
“Adding an industry veteran like Rob, who brings more than $10 billion in real estate transaction experience and an in-depth understanding of capital markets and real estate, is a foundational piece to our firm’s expansion,” CARROLL founder and CEO M. Patrick Carroll said in a press release. “With the launch of new verticals, having Rob’s expertise in-house will help our platform quickly scale to meet the growing demands of the market.”
Lester has been involved in investment banking and real estate for more than 20 years and recently held executive and leadership positions at Blackstone/Park Hill Real Estate, Macquarie Group and Brookfield. His hiring gives CARROLL a new presence in Los Angeles and marks the firm’s fifth hire this year.
“[CARROLL is] at the forefront of residential real estate with a celebrated track record of outperformance,” Lester said. “I look forward to partnering with this renowned team to drive the firm’s audacious growth plans.”
