Selig Development and GID recently topped out their 306-apartment community, Westbound at The Works, on Atlanta’s Upper Westside and revealed new renderings of the project.
Westbound is the latest component of Selig’s 80-acre adaptive-reuse development, The Works. A preview center was opened at 202A Chattahoochee Row to allow potential residents to tour a model unit.
Preleasing is set to begin in January 2023, and the first move-ins will start by July 2023. RangeWater will lead leasing and property management at the property.
Designed by Rule Joy Trammell + Rubio and constructed by Brasfield & Gorrie, the development “mirrors the unique, industrial aesthetic of the neighborhood, featuring charcoal gray brick, modern dark bronze windows and fiber cementitious paneling with pops of copper color,” the joint-venture partners said in news release.
“The topping out of Westbound at The Works and opening of the Preview Center represents an important milestone for the Selig/GID team,” said Malloy Peterson, senior vice president for Selig Development. “With Westbound at The Works, we have created a unique residential offering and experience that caters to the needs of our residents with best-in-class retail, dining and entertainment at their doorsteps and the modern amenities they desire.”
Westbound’s completion will mark the end of The Works’ phase one development, which spans 27 acres and includes 184,000 square feet of retail and 125,000 square feet of office space.
Westbound is located at the main entrance of The Works, along Chattahoochee Avenue and Chattahoochee Row. Units will come in a mix of floorplans, 70% of which will be one-bedroom apartments and 30% of which will be two bedrooms.
The five-story project will include a 547-space parking garage and The Camp, the property’s one-acre greenspace. Other amenities include an indoor/outdoor fitness area, coworking area, game room with indoor/outdoor bar, poolside open-air TV lounge and pool courtyard with communal kitchens and outdoor lounging areas.
