Local real estate investor and developer Parkland Communities officially opened its new headquarters in the former Rudasill Grocery store in downtown Alpharetta.
In a ribbon-cutting ceremony on March 20, members of the Alpharetta Chamber of Commerce joined Parkland staff to celebrate the new office, which is located at 363 S. Main St. near the previous headquarters at 299 S. Main. It will serve Parkland Communities, as well as its Parkland Residential and Parkland Homes divisions.
“What a beautiful transformation of a building that has historic value to the story of Main Street and the City of Alpharetta,” Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Deborah Lanham said at the ribbon cutting.
Rudasill Grocery served as Alpharetta’s general store when it opened in the early 1950s. At the time, Main Street was just a rural two-lane road.
“If only walls could talk, the stories and history this building would tell,” Parkland President Jim Jacobi said. “The grocery store was the heart of the community in the 1950s. We admire the provenance of the building and are thrilled to restore this building so its legacy continues for generations to come.”
Parrish Construction served as general contractor for the building’s renovations, which were planned by TSW.
Jim, Congratulations on the new location! Doug
