After 30 years, Elton John is saying goodbye, Peachtree Road. The singer is selling his sprawling Buckhead condo as he permanently decamps for his native U.K.
John’s 13,300 square-foot home on the 36th floor of the Park Place tower has been listed for $4,995,000 by Chase Mizell of Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s International Realty. The residence offers four bedrooms and seven bathrooms over two floors. The superstar purchased the property as a duplex in 1992, for $925,000, and expanded it over the years, ultimately adding five neighboring units to what became his U.S. pied-à-terre.
Features include wood walls, floor-to-ceiling windows and 360 degrees of Atlanta skyline and western tree-canopy views. Balconies bedeck all sides of the residence, which also has intricate moldings, Greek-style columns and glass-walled staircases throughout.
The centerpiece of the home is a two-story salon with a two-story dining room and spacious living room overlooked by numerous galleries where John displayed his photography collection. The primary suite includes a bedroom wrapped in blonde hardwood and floor-to-ceiling mirrors, an onyx-clad bathroom and a huge walk-in closet with its own balcony.
The condo also has an in-home fitness studio, a spa/massage room and three guest suites, as well as nine reserved parking spaces, six storage units and five wine–storage units.
