Walton Global recently closed on the sale of 58.9 acres of the 184-acre Sugarloaf Crossing master-planned community in Gwinnett County.
An undisclosed Atlanta-based homebuilder purchased the parcel and plans to develop a variety of housing options, said Walton, a global real estate investment company, in a press release. The remaining land is still available.
“We are excited to have closed the initial acreage at Sugarloaf Crossing to jump start development,” said Anthony Sparrow, executive vice president of real estate for Walton Global. “The purchaser is a renowned developer in the market with a reputation for high quality residential communities. These initial phases will provide badly needed residential units in what is a thriving Gwinnett County market.”
The property is located near the intersection of the area’s two major arterial highways: Georgia Route 316 and US Route 29. It has about 4,000 feet of frontage on Route 316 and 800 feet on US 29, providing relatively easy access to Atlanta, Lawrenceville, Dacula and Athens.
“The site’s location and access to major highways is a crucial element and a huge reason as to why we saw potential in this parcel of land,” Sparrow said. “With this sale, we look forward to continuing our participation in the growth of this Gwinnett market segment, as the expansion of infrastructure brings additional job growth.”
