Jim Chapman Construction Group (JCCG) recently hired industry veteran Robert O’Neil as its new director of preconstruction – vertical.

In his new role, O’Neil is responsible for preparing bids for all vertical construction items, sourcing construction materials in the Southeast, value-engineering projects to meet project owner budgets, overseeing schedules and working with project managers. He will work closely with Terence Lang, vice president of purchasing and design.

O’Neil has already served on several JCCG projects, including South Point Townhomes in South Fulton, Richmond Hills and Cottages at New Hampstead in Savannah, Friendship Trails in Hoschton and Fellowship High Ground in Milledgeville.

Before JCCG, O’Neil worked as director of purchasing at Southwyck Homes, director of purchasing at EMC Homes and national purchasing manager at Beazer Homes. He has overseen the construction of more than 2,000 single-family homes and over 1.5 million square feet of commercial condominiums nationwide.

“O’Neil’s significant responsibilities highlight his crucial role in guiding project development from inception to fruition, ensuring seamless alignment with our company’s rigorous standards and strategic objectives,” JCCG President Jim Chapman said in a press release.

“I’m thrilled to embark on this new chapter with JCCG,” said O’Neil. “I am enjoying applying my expertise and knowledge toward advancing the company’s current and upcoming projects, maintaining our commitment to excellence across all stages of development.”

O’Neil has a degree in business administration and managerial economics from Georgia State University.
