Describe your style: I am often told my style is unique and interesting. I look for inspiration everywhere and my closet reflects that. It was also the impetus to start my new lifestyle brand, HARVIN.
What trend from the past are you glad to see again? I have always been a gold girl and love that it is back with a vengeance. I also have to admit that shoulder pads and puffy sleeves are the most flattering thing and I really missed them. They say leopard print is back but it never left my closet. I often say, “Leopard is my favorite color.”
What item of clothing gets you the most compliments? My eyeglasses from Anne et Valentine. I get stopped no less than five times a day with them. They are definite conversation starters.
What is a fashion crime you have committed in the past? I am now to the point where the crimes are back in style, so I will embrace that and not admit to any.
What are your favorite clothing stores or brands? There are a lot! For high-end, I love Chloe, Bottega Venetta, Stella McCartney. I love to mix high and low, and my best finds are usually from Zara, H&M and COS. I also love Labels for the BEST vintage finds and Don Purcell for amazing accessories.
What item in your wardrobe can you not live without? My gold Bottega Venetta earrings are a staple. I love big statement necklaces (particularly Monies from Don Purcell) and they all go with my earrings. I have recently though been branching out and have found some Schiaparelli pieces I adore!
What must-haves are in your bag/briefcase/backpack? My Revlon ColorStay Lipstick in Seal the Deal. I think I have like 10 tubes of it floating around everywhere. I have tried almost every lipstick out there and this is the only one that truly stays all day.
Who is your style icon? Iris Apfel. What is not to love about her unique style and statement pieces? I think that I also relate to her because she started in design and then became an icon as a second chapter.
What is the most expensive or meaningful accessory or piece of clothing you’ve ever acquired? Obviously my wedding rings, but I am sure everyone says that. A more interesting find is a vintage “I Love You” bracelet that took me years to locate. I recently found a diamond version and had to get it because I have two girls and I want them each to have one.
What is your style advice for other people in the industry? Dress the part, all the time! Whether you are at the grocery store or running errands or meeting a client, we are always on in this industry.
