Atlanta is America’s best city for singles in 2026

by Elizabeth Kanzeg Rowland

Navigating the dating pool can feel like a series of dead ends, but finding the right setting to search for “the one” might make all the difference — and single people may not need to look any further than Atlanta, which was recently ranked as the best city for singles by WalletHub.

The finance company used data from the U.S. Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor Statistics and other sources to rank U.S. cities based on metrics like share of the population that is single and the average price for a two-person meal. Atlanta placed No. 1, beating out other popular cities like Las Vegas (No. 2) and Miami (No. 11).

A large population of potential partners helped drive Atlanta’s high ranking. Around 70% of the city’s population is single, defined by WalletHub as never married, widowed or divorced — the ninth-highest percentage in the country. Atlanta also offers some of the best access to nightlife, restaurants and attractions for the perfect date.

“The already difficult process of finding the perfect partner can be made even tougher when cities lack the conditions necessary to make dating successful,” said WalletHub analyst Chip Lupo. “The best cities for singles have large, gender-balanced single populations, along with a wide variety of indoor and outdoor, daytime and nighttime activities. They also have reasonable prices for dating activities or high average incomes to help ease the sting of inflation.”
