Do you have a destination in mind for your business? P-L-A-N to reach it!
P – erform an assessment of now
L – ook to develop your strengths
A – ct on opportunities and
N – ever quit!
Whether you were just starting out or been an active agent for years, a look at your past year in real estate should reveal some very interesting things about your business which will help you move forward. Over the next couple blog posts, we will discuss what will help you move forward.
Perform an Assessment of Now
The first thing you’ll have to do when planning for your business destination is perform an assessment of now.
When you plan a trip, you look at the map to see where you are now, and assess it against where you are going. What is your ultimate destination? How far is it? In which direction do you need to travel? How are you going to get there? How many stops along the way? How long will it take you? What tools do you need?
Ask the same questions about your business. The real estate profession has so many destinations you can choose. By being honest in your assessment, your vision becomes more focused. Your path to success becomes more defined.
Look to Develop Your Strengths
Secondly, you’ll want to look to develop your strengths.
What do you bring to the table for your real estate business? Do you bring an awareness of the market? A timely service? Perfected systems? Marketing skills?
Whatever it may be, you want to take those strengths to the next level! Make them your calling card – your UPS (Unique Positioning Statement). By having a clear grasp of your highest talents, you can focus on using those skills to pull your business forward. As for the areas where you are not so talented, consider hiring or partnering with someone who can create the balance.
Stay tuned for my second blog post, which will address acting on opportunities and never quitting.
