Brandon Byrd, Vice President of BankSouth Mortgage, has been a top producer in the real estate industry for 15 years. He has worked in many facets of the home financing industry and truly loves being a loan originator.
Byrd primarily focuses on working with individuals looking to renovate or build a new home, as well as individuals from the film industry. “With the film industry being newer to the Atlanta market, we were initially faced with a few challenges,” he says, explaining that they’ve since been able to fine-tune their services to accommodate buyers in the industry. He adds, “My true passion is still working with first-time homebuyers.”
In addition to having more than a decade of experience, Byrd is also a graduate of the Xinnix Mortgage Academy, a training program specifically for loan originators. Even with his advanced knowledge and mastery of the business, Byrd prioritizes personal connection and spending time communicating with agents, builders and clients. “In this day and time, when everything is done electronically, it’s important to remember we are all human, and the home financing process really needs a personalized experience,” Byrd says.
During the past year, he was able to help a past client downsize to a smaller house after 10 years in the home that Byrd himself had helped them buy. “I love seeing how people grow and helping them with their mortgage needs as life changes,” he says, noting that he also assisted the client’s child in purchasing their first home as well.
The past year was also one of great personal growth as Byrd and his husband completed the renovation of their dream home. “For the first time ever, I finally feel like I have learned how to balance my work and personal life,” he says.
Byrd is a member of the Human Rights Campaign’s Federal Club, Business Network International and the Mortgage Bankers Association of Georgia. He has won multiple Mortgage Bankers Association of Georgia Gold Awards.
