Tonya Marlatt is an associate broker with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in the Inman Park/Old Fourth Ward markets.

What was your first job in the realty industry? Real estate agent at Bo Bridgeport Brokerage.

Where did you grow up? Adrian, Michigan.

Growing up, what did you want to be? I’m not sure I really knew but I was always selling something.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? Run, watch football and read.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? Hoda Kotb.

Where is your favorite place to hang out? Milltown Tavern.

What do you love most about the industry? The ability to be creative to get deals closed.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? Definitely customer service! I am very responsive and walk through the transaction with my clients every step of the way.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? For the last few years, the greatest challenge has been the lack of inventory.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? Most of my business comes from personal referrals. I am also well established in the neighborhoods I work in.

What has been your greatest accomplishment? There are many accomplishments I am proud of, but I think the greatest is surviving the most recent financial crisis and the impact on the real estate market.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? I just saw Unbroken, and it is an incredibly inspiring movie.

What is your favorite restaurant? Kevin Rathbun Steak.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Atlanta? I really love modern architecture, so there are many single and multi-family buildings that I love. As for a single building, I think 1010 is a nice addition to the skyline.

What kind of car do you drive? Nissan Rouge.

Smartphone or paper? Definitely smartphone and iPad. I love technology!

What is your favorite city after Atlanta? Chicago.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Invest in your business, and know it takes time!

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? Zillow.

Who are your favorite people to follow on Twitter? I am bad about using Twitter, but it’s on my list to work in 2015!
