Katie Schanck is a Realtor with Keller Williams Realty Atlanta Midtown.

What was your first job in the realty industry? I worked as an assistant and buyers agent for a mega agent in Atlanta.

Where did you grow up? East Cobb and Marietta.

Growing up, what did you want to be? When I was a little girl, I wanted to be a signer and dancer; as I grew older, I loved working with people and helping them, so sales made sense.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? I like to go for a walk outside if the weather is nice, and a glass of wine always helps!

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? I would love to have lunch with Julia Child. Her life seemed so interesting, and I would love for her to cook for me!

Where is your favorite place to hang out? I love just being with friends and family, and I enjoy checking out all of the new restaurants that Atlanta has to offer.

What do you love most about the industry? That the sky is the limit as far as what you can accomplish in real estate! I love running my own business.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I have built my business on trust and relationships. I feel like I am honest and reliable, and I always get the job done with my clients’ best interest in mind!

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? When things don’t go as planned, you have to be quick on your feet and have good solutions to get deals done.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? I have been a part of a networking group called Powercore for the last five years, and it has been a great resource!

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? I just saw “Unbroken,” and thought it was a powerful movie.

What is your favorite restaurant? Too many to choose just one, but a few favorites are Nuevo Laredo, Antico and Goin Coastal.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Atlanta? I love the High Museum.

What kind of car do you drive? Honda CRV.

Smartphone or paper? Smartphone.

What is your favorite city after Atlanta? I recently visited Portland, OR and thought it was amazing!

What is your advice for someone new to the industry? Have a good savings, choose your company wisely and surround yourself with experienced agents you respect.

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? I love the KW app; it is a great tool for my clients, and for me!
