One of the hottest neighborhoods in the country is located in Atlanta.
A new study from the personal finance website GOBankingRates ranked the 20 hottest neighborhoods across the United States. The results revealed that the neighborhoods are often in mid-sized cities, near interstates and have easy access to city centers.
East Atlanta came in at No. 18. Located near Interstate 20, the neighborhood is more affordable than many of its northern neighborhoods, such as Virginia Highland, according to GOBankingRates. However, East Atlanta has a higher crime rate than neighborhoods located in the northern ZIP codes of 30307 and 30306.
However, East Atlanta is slightly more expensive than neighborhoods to the east, but its crime levels are lower.
GOBankingRates looked at more than 1,700 neighborhoods throughout the country to figure out which provided the best opportunities to buy before becoming too expensive. The ranking neighborhoods were chosen based on trends in home prices, availability of homes and how long homes stayed on the market.
