Industry veterans share wisdom from managing brokers

by

The wise real estate professional takes notes when their managing broker comes to them with advice. We recently asked our readers via social media to tell us their favorite pieces of advice from managing brokers over their careers.

•Lane McCormack, a managing broker at Ansley Atlanta, urged agents to stay calm and remember that they can rely on what their brokerage can do for them: “You don’t need to know everything, you need to have great resources. Also, look at the facts and keep your emotions out of the transaction.”

•DeAnn Blanton Golden, a managing broker with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Georgia Properties, kept it simple when telling us her favorite piece of advice: “Answer your phone! A client calling for everyone is a potential opportunity to help buy or sell or lease a home.”

•Chad Carrodus of Beacham & Company, Realtors, reminds agents that there’s more to selling than selling: “Provide value by becoming a local resource on the market.”
