A pair of Texas real estate investors formed a joint venture to transform a 13-story downtown office tower into a class-A apartment building.
Renovations on 41 Marietta St. are underway. The completed project will comprise 120 residences and have a post office, lounges and retail offices on the ground floor.
The building, which was designed by Atlanta architect Tooms Amisano and Wells and opened in 1976, was once home to Standard Federal Savings and Loan. Downtown Atlanta boosters have considered it a candidate for mixed-use redevelopment with student housing or multifamily residences, according to a press release.
The joint venture behind the project, Tower 41 Marietta Street LLC, is led by Kenny Wolfe, owner of private-equity firm Wolfe Investments, and Ike Bams and John Williams, co-founders of the Bluelofts residential development company.
