Andrew Burns Realtor

Coldwell Banker - Marietta/West Cobb

What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?

I was an assistant audio engineer at one of the top recording studios in Atlanta.

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in south Mississippi, right on the coast in a town called Ocean Springs.

Growing up, what did you want to be?

I went from wanting to be a veterinarian to being in the military to being a recording engineer.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?

Spend time with my family, eat good food, golf.

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?

Probably Gary Vee. I love his business model and his straight-shooter attitude.

What is Atlanta’s best-kept secret?

Oh good question. I would say Fat Matt’s BBQ. If you go, get the mac n cheese and whole chicken.

What do you love most about the industry?

I love getting to be a apart of my client’s story. It’s also incredible to hear of clients bringing their first born children home to the house you helped put them in. Things like that.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?

I’m very heavy on social media. I’m also very heavy on being authentic. What you see is what you get, always. And I think that really helps to set me apart.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?

I would say the most difficult is helping to educate people on our local market when the national news might be depicting something else.

What’s your best advice for generating new leads?

Search for people in the way you like to be searched for.

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately?

Oh man, I just got done watching the latest season of Westworld, and I’m currently all in on NFL as we approach playoff season.

What’s your favorite meal in Atlanta?

My favorite meal, and some are going to laugh because it’s cheap and not “fancy,” but Fellini’s pizza. You just can’t beat it.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Atlanta?

I love the Fox Theatre. There’s just something about the history there and the details that you can’t beat.

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?

Probably showing a home where there was a full bunny farm inside of the living room. It was absolutely wild.

What’s one thing people are surprised to learn about you?

I think people are surprised to learn that I can play the trumpet. I actually had a few college scholarships for music back in the day.

What is your favorite vacation spot and why?

Favorite vacation spot I would say is either somewhere like the Nashville area or going on a cruise. Relaxing in general is key.

What is your favorite city after Atlanta?

I would have to say Vegas. I’ve been a few times for different reasons, and it never disappoints. I’m a big foodie, and that’s definitely a food lover’s dream.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?

Always trust your gut, and protect your mental health.

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app?

My go to’s are Homesnap, RealScout, and then for people who want something simple and reputable to look at homes on, I’d say the Realtor.com app

Who are your favorite people to follow on social media?

I think this probably falls in line with most, but people like Ryan Serhant, Rob Dyrdek, Gary Vee.

What are your social media handles?
