The 306-unit residential component of The Works mixed-use development in the Upper Westside is nearing completion, with pre-leasing underway and tenant move-ins scheduled for October.
The five-story community, Westbound at The Works, is located at the main entrance of the industrial-inspired development at Chattahoochee Avenue and Chattahoochee Row. It will offer a mix of one-bedroom units (70%) and two-bedroom apartments (30%) ranging from 731 square feet to 1,353 square feet.
The Works’ 125,000-square-foot adaptive-reuse office space is already open; tenants include MacDermid, an Atlanta-based flexographic and printing company; Uppercut, a New York-based post-production company; iHeart Media, a global media and entertainment company; and Bread n’ Butter Content Studios, creator of Atlanta Eats.
Dining, retail and entertainment options are also open at The Works, with more set to come online this fall. Open tenants include Chattahoochee Food Works, a 31-stall food hall, Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q, Fetch Park, Ballard Designs, Les Mains Nail Bar, Tinte Salon and more.
Westbound residents will have access to private upscale amenities, including an open-air TV lounge, indoor/outdoor fitness room, club room, sports bar, co-working center, communal kitchens and a pool courtyard, as well as The Works’ community gathering spaces, which include The Camp, a one-acre greenspace, and The Spur, a 970-foot linear park.
A joint venture between Selig Enterprises and GIC is developing The Works.
“Bringing residents to The Works is an important next step in building a thriving community on the Upper Westside,” Selig Senior Vice President Malloy Peterson said. “We have created a true-to-Atlanta, mixed-use experience at The Works with best-in-class office, retail, dining and entertainment, and we’re excited to welcome residents this fall.”
Westbound is financed by Wells Fargo. RJTR serves as project architect, Brasfield and Gorrie is the general contractor and RangeWater is leading leasing and property management.
