Numerous indicators in Georgia MLS‘ 12-county Housing Market Snapshot showed Atlanta’s housing market gaining steam last month as the spring selling season kicked off.
On a unit basis, home sales surged 23% month over month to 3,873, compared to 3,148 in January, while on a volume basis, sales rose 27.2% to $1.84 billion, compared to $1.44 billion a month before.
New listings jumped 10.7% month over month and 28.7% year over year to 7,388. Active listings, meanwhile, were up 7.7% on a monthly basis and 24.9% on a yearly one, at 11,975.
The median sales price rose 3.6% month over month and 7.1% year over year to $399,000.
Georgia MLS’ 12-county report includes Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, Dekalb, Douglas, Fayette, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, Paulding and Rockdale counties.
