The pace of home sales in the Atlanta area picked up in October on both a monthly and yearly basis, according to the latest Georgia MLS 12-county Housing Market Snapshot.
By units, sales were up 3.7% month over month, rising from 4,378 homes sold in September to 4,540 homes in October. Year over year, sales rose 5.7% from 4,296 transactions in October 2023. By dollar amount, sales climbed 2.5% month over month and 8.6% year over year to $2.24 billion.
The median sales price of $399,900 represented a 1.3% dip from September’s $405,000 level and was basically flat with the $400,000 price of October 2023.
New listings rose 5.8% month over month and 17.8% year over year to 8,416. Active listings, meanwhile, were up 1.5% on a monthly basis and 49.4% on a yearly one, at 18,453 listings.
Georgia MLS’ 12-county report includes Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, Dekalb, Douglas, Fayette, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, Paulding and Rockdale counties.
Great to hear of Georgia growth in the northern part of the state.
