A combined 37 years of real estate experience, along with an admirable collaborative spirit, have been integral to the success of Jill and Dan Petersen, who serve as leaders of Petersen Partners with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices.
Concentrating on the Cobb, DeKalb and Fulton county markets — specifically in Smyrna, Mableton, Vinings, Marietta, Buckhead, Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Atlanta and Decatur — the Petersens work primarily with repeat and referral clients as well as those seeking to buy or sell luxury properties.
Jill (CEO/president) prioritizes buyers, while Dan (CMO, CFO) focuses on sellers. “It’s a business model that maximizes individual strengths and skill sets,” they say.
With Jill’s educational background in marketing and decision science and her career history rooted in sales, along with Dan’s prior experience in business development, marketing and finance, their record as top-ranking Berkshire Hathaway agents both nationally (Top 100) and internationally (top half of top 1 percent), as well as membership in Berkshire Hathaway’s Chairman’s Circle since 2008, is no big surprise.
Within the last year, Petersen Partners achieved over $50 million in sales, and from 2014–2016 they were the No. 1 team at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Georgia Properties.
They attribute their achievements in part to their recent decision to redefine their business structure, systems and processes in order to increase their team’s overall productivity and income. “The key has been to focus on how to help and support our team so they not only earn more but also have more time for family,” they say. “We have had the privilege of welcoming several new team members and having them become incredibly successful in their first year of real estate.”
Providing excellent customer service always remains paramount, and both Jill and Dan are enrolled in professional business coaching so that they can continue to refine their skills. “We are focused on not only getting continued training for ourselves to help our clients, but also training for our team to help them provide a higher level of service to our clients,” Dan explains. This sustained commitment to further professional growth is evident in the overwhelmingly positive Zillow reviews that each team member has received.
The Petersens are active volunteers with their sons’ sports teams — Dan has been the school’s wrestling coach for the past 13 years, and Jill is Team Mom for the cross country, baseball, track and wrestling teams. They also enjoy running as a family. “We still try to run 5ks, especially ones for a cause,” they say. “And next year’s family goal is 100k!”
