Atlanta ranks among top cities for first-time homebuyers

by

Personal finance website WalletHub has ranked the Atlanta metro area third on this year’s list of best large cities for first-time homebuyers.  The City of Atlanta ranks No. 25 overall and No. 3 among large cities out of 300 that were studied.

WalletHub reports that the data were gathered through the comparison of 300 cities of varying sizes across 27 key indicators of market attractiveness, affordability and quality of life. Cost of living, real estate tax and crime rate were also factored into the data.

For first time homebuyers, where a home is located is more important than the features it has. If the community is undesirable and proximity is not on point, first-time buyers tend to wait until the perfect location becomes available before purchasing a new home.

Through various incentives, including the state’s low corporate tax structure, favorable employment climate and right-to-work status, metro Atlanta is an enticing destination for not only businesses looking to expand or relocate, but also for first-time homebuyers wanting to live in a thriving region.
