What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?

I owned a chain of teeth-whitening studios in Atlanta, Boston, North Carolina, Dallas, Houston and Chicago.

Where did you grow up?

Louisiana

Growing up, what did you want to be?

I always wanted to be an entrepreneur. I remember being 10 years old with a leaf-raking business, and I designed programs for churches.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?

Beach therapy!

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?

Barack Obama, because he just seems like the smartest, coolest guy ever!

What is Atlanta’s best-kept secret?

The Bando restaurant in Southwest Atlanta

What do you love most about the industry?

I love being able to see people excited about diving into home ownership and embarking on generational wealth.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?

I’m not Johnny Real Estate agent. No boomerangs, no video tours, no name tags, just top-tier real estate consulting for really awesome clients!

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?

The most challenging part of my job is managing referral deals, which are the bulk of our business in multiple states with multiple agents.

What’s your best advice for generating new leads?

Always be open to discuss real estate with friends, family and strangers alike. They are your most valuable lead source, and you are your best marketer.

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately?

I’m a news junky! I think it may have come from my mother.

What’s your favorite meal in Atlanta?

Hot wings of course, it’s Atlanta.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Atlanta?

The NCR Building in Midtown!

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?

I was touring a home for a potential investment to flip, and weird noises kept getting louder and louder. Needless to say, I didn’t buy that property.

What’s one thing people are surprised to learn about you?

I’m actually not as serious as people think!

What is your favorite vacation spot and why?

The Dominican Republic. It’s steeped in raw history, great beaches, bomb food and amazing people.

What is your favorite city after Atlanta?

Chicago. I went to undergrad there, and although the weather drove me south to Atlanta, it will always be my home away from home.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?

It’s a marathon, not a sprint.
