GAMLS: Atlanta median sales price slides again in September

The median sales price of an Atlanta home fell again in September, dipping 1.9% to $385,495 from August’s $393,000, Georgia MLS reported, citing its 12-county Housing Market Snapshot.   

Year over year, the median price was still in positive territory, with a 13.4% gain from September 2021’s $340,000 price.  

The number of homes sold in September fell 9.8% from August to 5,680 properties, which was 21.9% lower than the 7,274 homes sold a year earlier.  

By dollar volume, homes sold were down 11.1% month over month and 12.4% year over year, at $2.58 billion.  

Active listings surged 77.1% from a year ago to 13,186. Compared to August, listings were up 6.1%. 

New listings slid 8.6% from August and 4.3% from September 2021 to 8,035.  

Georgia MLS’ 12-county report includes Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, Paulding and Rockdale counties.
