Alpharetta’s Parkland Residential broke ground last week on Sugarloaf Landing, its 114-unit, build-to-rent townhome community in Lawrenceville.

The project, located on 10 acres near the intersection of Sugarloaf Parkway and Five Forks Trickum Road, will feature rear-entry, stacked townhouses with one-car garages. Inside, open floor plans will offer two or three bedrooms, private owner’s suites with walk-in closets and bathrooms with dual vanities.

The three-bedroom units feature two-and-a-half baths plus lofts with 1,958 square feet of living space, while two-bedroom units cover 1,636 square feet. Rents begin at $2,400 per month.

“It is a great feeling to see dirt moving at this long-anticipated community,” Parkland Residential President Jim Jacobi said. “Gwinnett has a large housing deficit, and Sugarloaf Landing will help meet the need for attainable housing.”

Community amenities include a swimming pool, cabana, playground, nature preserve, playfield, tot lot and pocket parks.

Parkland Residential is a relatively new homebuilding company focused on build-to-rent development. It is the sister company of residential developer and investor Parkland Communities Inc.
