GAMLS: Atlanta home sales jump in March as spring-selling season begins

Atlanta home sales jumped month-over-month in March on both a sales-volume and per-unit basis, Georgia MLS reported, citing its 12-county Housing Market Snapshot.    

Home sales rose 33% to 5,507 properties. By dollar volume, sales came in at $2.46 billion, up 38.2% from February. However, on an annual basis, the number and value of homes sold fell 20% and 19.7%, respectively.  

The median sales price of homes sold was $376,000, up 0.9% from $372,500 in February but down 0.8% from $379,000 in March 2022.    

New listings surged 26.9% month over month and fell 12,2% year over year to 7,285, while active listings were down 1% on a monthly basis and up 78.9% on a yearly one, at 9,485.    

Georgia MLS’ 12-county report includes Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, Dekalb, Douglas, Fayette, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, Paulding and Rockdale counties.
