RangeWater brings in HR veteran for new chief people officer role

by John Yellig

Atlanta-based multifamily investor RangeWater Real Estate hired human-resources veteran Franco Minton as its first-ever chief people officer.

In his new role, Minton will spearhead HR initiatives like talent acquisition and management, employee engagement, DE&I initiatives and leadership development as RangeWater continues to pursue strategic growth objectives.

Minton most recently served as senior vice president of human resource strategy and consulting at Wellstar Health Systems. Before that, he held similar roles at Truist/SunTrust and Fifth Third Bank.

“As an organization, we know that if we focus on our people, all other aspects of our business thrive,” RangeWater Chairman and CEO Steven Shores said in a press release. “Franco is a great culture fit, and his track record of leading company-wide initiatives will elevate the positive experience our team is already known for bringing our partners and employees.”

Minton is president of the Leadership Group with the American Club Association and executive partner and president of the Monthly First Thursday Human Resources Seminars, where he regularly speaks to professional organizations and trade schools on HR transformation and entrepreneurship. He is also a member of Business Networking International and the Society for Human Resource Management.

“I’m thrilled to join the leadership team at RangeWater, a trailblazer in the rental housing industry that I’ve long admired for their commitment to culture and stellar reputation,” Minton said. “The creation of the CPO role is a testament to their entrepreneurial spirit and focus on people. I’m eager to hit the ground running and make a positive impact for those who not only work for us but live with us.”

Minton lives in Atlanta with his wife and two children. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, boating, camping, hiking and fishing in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
