Georgia MLS: Home sales slide while median sales price rises in June

Atlanta home sales fell month-over-month in June on both a per-unit and sales-volume basis, while the median sales price gained ground.       

By unit, home sales slid 8% to 5,360 properties, Georgia MLS reported, citing its 12-county Housing Market Snapshot. By dollar volume, sales came in at $2.71 billion, down 6% from May. On a year-over-year basis, the number and value of homes sold fell 24.8% and 22.5%, respectively.     

The median sales price of homes sold in June was $407,515, up 1.9% from $400,000 in May but down 1.1% from $412,000 in June 2022.       

New listings rose 5.3% month over month but fell 25.9% year over year to 8,003, while active listings were up 9.3% on a monthly basis and down 0.8% on a yearly one, at 10,248.       

Georgia MLS’ 12-county report includes Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, Dekalb, Douglas, Fayette, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, Paulding and Rockdale counties.
