Landscape architect Kevin Cardinal joins Parkland Communities as director of entitlements

Parkland Communities has hired veteran landscape architect Kevin Cardinal as director of entitlements. 

In his new role, Cardinal will lead the Atlanta developer’s community planning processes, which include managing due diligence for acquisitions, site planning, permitting and final plat coordination with municipalities and governmental agencies. 

“Kevin’s expertise in the realm of real estate development is unparalleled,” Parkland Communities President Jim Jacobi said in a press release. “His comprehensive understanding of the industry and his logical approach to community planning and entitlements make him an invaluable asset to our team. We’re excited to see the positive impact he will have boosting Parkland’s future growth.” 

Throughout his 30-year career, Cardinal has collaborated on numerous large-scale projects, including the Mall of Georgia, the Kennesaw State University Quad, The Manor Golf & Country Club, various Olympic venues and resort communities in Florida and Costa Rico. He’s worked with DR Horton, Drapac Capital Partners and Century Communities and consulted with Blue River Development, The Reservoir Group, Pulte Group, Rocklyn Homes and Meritage Homes and helped develop multifamily apartments and mixed-use properties for Sembler Company, Wood Partners, Lincoln Group, NorSouth and the Affordable Housing Partnership.  

Cardinal is a registered landscape architect and holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry and an MBA from Norwich University. A Marietta resident, he enjoys hang gliding, writing, golfing, fly fishing and instruction in his free time.
