Blue River hires land acquisition manager, real estate analyst

by John Yellig

After a year of new hires, Blue River Development is continuing to build its ranks with the recent addition of Dalton Duriez as land acquisition manager and Aditya Patibandla as real estate analyst.

In his new role, Duriez will seek new land deals to feed the pipeline for Blue River’s national and private homebuilder clients, including Blue River Communities and Blue River Lifestyle Communities. Patibandla, meanwhile, will work in a dual capacity for both Blue River Development and BR Capital, which specializes in helping homebuilders grow their land banks.

Before he joined Blue River, Duriez worked as a land acquisition manager for Davidson Homes, and before that, he served as a construction manager in Nashville for Pulte Homes and general sales manager for Beazer Homes, also in Nashville.

Duriez is a graduate of James Madison University with a degree in business management. He also holds a Realtor license in Georgia, OSHA certification and Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission stormwater certification.

“[Duriez’s] background with various homebuilding and land-acquisition roles brings a unique perspective to our efforts,” Blue River President of Acquisition and Development Geoffrey Reid said in a press release. “He has already hit the ground running, and we are excited for the upcoming year as we continue to grow the Blue River Development land-acquisition platform.”

After graduating from Johns Hopkins as an undergraduate public health major, Patibandla joined BlackRock’s Atlanta office in 2021 as an analyst within BlackRock Alternative Investors.

He then earned a master’s of analytical finance from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School with concentrations in capital markets and alternative investments before moving to Nashville, where he underwrote multifamily investments in the Southeast and completed the CRE Analyst Fast Track program.

“I am attracted to Aditya’s eagerness to learn; he’s like a sponge, quickly understanding the intricacies of capital markets and institutional investments,” BR Capital President Brent Shearer said in a separate release. “His role is crucial in navigating our fundraising endeavors, whether internal projects or land banking for builders, and ensuring that our partnerships with large investors and hedge funds are aligned and profitable.”
