The Iannotti Breen Group, Compass Buckhead

What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?
Flipping homes every two years. Total of eight so far. I love the excitement of a renovation and a great side business of earning equity!
Where did you grow up?
Birmingham/Sylacauga, Alabama
Growing up, what did you want to be?
A prosecutor. My main goal was to punish those who hurt animals and push for stronger laws against those who commit these insane acts.
What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
Walk in the park and sit by the river at Chastain. Remind myself that whatever I am stressed about could be so minor compared to others.
If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
Betty White for her life of comedy, quick wit and always-happy attitude towards life, plus her decades of support and passion for helping animals. She was a huge pet lover.
What is Atlanta’s best-kept secret?
ATLANTA! There is no other city comparison to the affordable lifestyle Atlanta offers. And its Southern hospitality certainly doesn’t hurt. Many reasons why people are moving to the Southeast. Quality lifestyle!
What do you love most about the industry?
In today’s market, that would be “The Hunt.” It’s so fulfilling when you find the perfect home for your buyers by knocking on doors, calling your network and getting creative to find those sellers that will sell.
How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?
I’m humble, truthful and knowledgeable. A humble agent that conveys her knowledge of 32 years selling and investing, being truthful in every aspect, no slick marketing fluff and her clients feeling the “respect and trust” at all times. Selling a $200,000 home is as important to me as a $5 million home.
What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
Time. As a perfectionist, it’s very difficult to get everything done in the proper timeframe every day. If its “pending,” I have a hard time not completing before the day is over.
What’s your best advice for generating new leads?
Be humble, know your market, walk around your neighborhoods, and get to know your neighbors and their families. Personalization is important and not just a postcard. Don’t be afraid to start a chat with a stranger at your local car wash. You never know when you could learn about neighbors selling/buying, etc. Everyone loves to talk about the Atlanta market and real estate. You always need to be the expert with the most knowledge.
What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately?
Not much of a TV watcher, but I’m enjoying music and dancing. I have to admit I am a Tik Tok fan. There are so many undiscovered talents on that medium. Amazing singers and dancers are so entertaining to me.
What’s your favorite meal in Atlanta?
Arnette’s Chop Shop. Love the atmosphere, the food is amazing, and I love supporting our local neighborhood restaurants. The spring/summer bar outside pulls in a super-nice crowd.
Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Atlanta?
The High Museum of Art. I love the unique white of the buildings and the small elements and architectural details that make it look like a piece of art.
What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?
I was showing a vacant home, but once upstairs, we discovered a sleeping bag, tennis shoes and a person sleeping. A fast exit!
What’s one thing people are surprised to learn about you?
I’m way too competitive, it’s not always a positive aspect. 🙂
What is your favorite vacation spot and why?
Costa Rica, hands down! I go every chance I get. So much to offer, the tropical rain forest, the hikes to beautiful blue waters/caves, Las Catalinas on the ocean is amazing, and the people are super kind!
What is your favorite city after Atlanta?
Naples/Sarasota. Toss up, I love them both.
In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?
Have a backup savings account, shadow a senior agent, never give up!
What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app?
Compass Home. It’s great for fast info on any address or search.
Who are your favorite people to follow on social media?
Bryan Casella – love to hear his tips on negotiations and difficult clients. Tatiana Londona – she has great advice on every issue and can motivate you immediately by watching some of her stories. Instant energy and motivation!
