The first half of 2025 brought a wave of moving activity across the nation. A new report from U-Haul identified the most common states of origin for do-it-yourself movers who relocated to Atlanta. 

Topping the list were Florida, North Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee and South Carolina, followed by Texas, Virginia, Ohio, Illinois and Mississippi.

U-Haul identified Miami, Orlando and Tampa, Florida; Charlotte; and Nashville as the top cities of origin for new Atlantans.  

The main feeders within Georgia were Athens, Savannah, Augusta, Columbus and Macon.
