Atlanta is a foodie’s paradise, according to a new report from WalletHub.
The finance company ranked American cities based on criteria such as quality of restaurants and food costs using data from the U.S. Census Bureau, TripAdvisor and other sources.
Atlanta placed in the top 15 and outranked popular food destinations like Los Angeles and New York.
Variety, accessibility, and quality helped Atlanta score well. The city placed in the top 10 nationwide for interactive food experiences like food trucks and international grocery stores.
Plus, Atlanta boasts plenty of food festivals and specialty food shops.
“Atlanta is ranked the No. 11 foodie city in America because it offers a great mix of variety, accessibility, and quality. The city stands out for its diverse dining options, which covers everything from food trucks and international grocery stores to high-quality restaurants,” said WalletHub analyst Chip Lupo. “While it’s not the cheapest city for dining, Atlanta does strike a good balance between affordability and variety. Add in food festivals, specialty shops, and a growing culinary scene, and it’s easy to see why Atlanta is such a popular destination for food lovers.”
